Get rid of unwanted perspective entries

I recently have been asked, what that strange looking perspective "" in the perspective toolbar is all about and how to get rid of it.  Well, the short answer for the later: You may simply use "Close" in the perspective content menu, that at least hides the perspective from the bar To really delete it, open the preferences, switch to "Perspectives" tab and delete the "" perspective So where is this strange looking perspective coming from? If you have a workspace and you use that workspace with different major versions of medini (you should not do that btw.) it may happen that a perspective is available in one tool version but not in the other. "Safety" for example was introduced the first time with 2020 R1 so opening the workspace first with 2020 R1, switching to "Safety" perspective and then opening the same workspace with 2019 R2 will cause some trouble because medini "remembers" that a perspective name "Safety" was opened the last time but the tool has no further deep knowledge of what that perspective is supposed to do. As a result it is renamed as encapsulated into "<>" to mark it. Next time you launch 2020 R2 the real "Safety" perspective is back - but also the "" - and voila you have two of them. Note that you also intentionally save a customized perspective with an arbitrary name: Hope that helped Jan
