I have two models, the first one with finer mesh the second one with only a subset of bodies and coarser meshing. I want to apply displacements from two Named Selections of model 1 to the identical, but more coarsely meshed Named Selections of model 2. I thought this would be a standard task, but it seems it needs some scripting. I already have a script which exports displacements of Named Selections over all load steps to a text file with columns: load step, node id, node.X, node.Y, node.Z, displ.X, displ.Y, displ.Z. Now I am not sure how to continue. I would need a mapping script, extracting node coordinates of the NS of the second model, an interpolation algorithm, maybe some scipy interpolation module and then what would be further steps? Writing interpolated nodal displacement to one file or even one file per loadstep and then importing it manually by Nodal Displacements? Or could I set boundary conditions with dpf or better ACT? Is there already a standard workflow which does exactly what I want. What would be the easiest and best way to do it?
