Create contact with named selections that were created in surface bodies

I have created Named Selections in SpaceClaim for both:

Surface bodies (shell bodies)
Faces of solid bodies

In ANSYS Mechanical, I want to automatically create contacts between the shell-body Named Selections and the corresponding solid-body face Named Selections using scripting.

I am currently able to create these contacts manually through the Mechanical GUI, but I would like to automate the process using Mechanical scripting .

Any sample scripts, best practices, or relevant documentation would be greatly appreciated.

Please try the below code. Just change the names of the Named Selections used in the code, with those at your end. Also, instead of named selection of surface bodies, just created named selection of faces of the shell body.

Please make sure that the names are unique for each Named Selection (appear only once in the tree)

shellFaceNS = DataModel.GetObjectsByName("shell_face")[0]

solidFaceNS = DataModel.GetObjectsByName("solid_face")[0]


contGroupObj = Model.Connections.AddConnectionGroup()

contObj = contGroupObj.AddContactRegion()

contObj.SourceLocation = shellFaceNS

contObj.TargetLocation = solidFaceNS
